The Housing Development Alliance, or HDA, is a well-established nonprofit affordable housing developer serving southeastern Kentucky. Our headquarters is located in Hazard, and we serve the counties of Breathitt, Knott, Leslie, and Perry. Having served the area for 30 years, HDA is one of the region’s oldest and most respected nonprofit organizations. We’ve also grown to become one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing developers in the state of Kentucky. HDA operates an affordable homeownership program, a home repair program, develops and manages rental units, and operates a paid on-the-job training program for men and women in substance use recovery. In response to the July 2022 floods, HDA continues to build and repair homes for East Kentucky flood survivors along with our ongoing services for low-income people in need of affordable housing.

Construction Manager

HDA is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to manage both new home construction and home repair projects. The Construction Manager will assist the Director of Construction through estimating, facilitating, coordinating, supervising, and closing out repair projects and new homes.

Required skills include working knowledge of construction and building codes, ability to accurately complete paperwork, ability to use computer programs such as Excel, Word and project management software, and the ability to function as part of a team. Ability to use AutoCAD is preferred but not required.

5+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Competitive salary and benefits including PTO, Health, Dental, and Vision insurance, retirement plans, and more.

AmeriCorps Member

Come work with us to bring affordable housing and flood recovery to low-income households in East Kentucky! Not only do you get to play an integral role in helping those most in need but you get to build your resume and experience at the same time.

As our Direct Service Member, you will be working closely with our Communications & Development Department, Volunteer Department, and in Community Outreach. More specific information related to your position is included below.

You will be filling a much needed, new position at HDA, and as such, you will be helping to expand the organization's capacity and fortify its ability to reach as many low-income and flood survivors in need as possible.

If you love serving others, being part of a community, and working with donors & volunteers, this is the gig for you! You will play an active role in fighting poverty in Central Appalachia by helping communities recover from the July 2022 flood and helping raise awareness about the need and availability of affordable housing. By supporting the mission of HDA - to use the power of housing to transform lives and build a brighter future for our community - you will:

• Assist the Development & Communications Department with various tasks and activities, including donor & volunteer outreach, creating new marketing campaigns and fundraising strategies, HDA events, and more.

• Work with our Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and manage volunteers, and

• Help coordinate community-based projects.
